  • Comment on The Tree Man by Steve
I forgot to mention that it was during this impromptu tree-rant gathering on my patio, complete with free orange juice, that the man from the council uttered the immortal line 'This tree's not dead. It's just less than vigorous." I often wonder if he got the part.....
  • Comment on Short cuts on a winding road by Steve
A year and a half later, it's only fair to remind people what I wrote back in May 2020. Now that most of this has actually come to pass, it'll be interesting to se how the rest of my 'Short Cuts on a Winding Road' rant pans out.
  • Comment on Free Housing for All by Steve
Since I wrote this rant, the Government has doubled the rent-free period available to tenants from three months to six. To be fair on them, though, and in the interest of balance, they have made a concession to your Grandma who will now get 4 more months to actually get her act together and bring […]

It was a huge mistake to sell off council housing without replenishing stock. What I don't get is why the Government are making funds available to small businesses - some of whom worked throughout the lockdown and therefore have profited hugely - and yet not made the same funds available for landlords who are surely […]

The social housing sector has been accidentally intentionally privatised over the years just without the weight of the state the rail sector gets. Its mutually beneficial for Tenants as well as landlords that the state steps in otherwise all it's doing is transferring a problem of their own making from Tenants to landlords whilst solving […]
  • Comment on Space: Big stuff a long way away. by Steve
In reply to Valerie French. It's not very wide at all - relatively :-) Two hundred K's or so - there's plenty of them in a light year. I had thought about London buses, but that didn't really work, and Olympic sized swimming pools don't make any sense in the vastness of the universe.
  • Comment on Space: Big stuff a long way away. by Valerie French
Well, this really is stuff found down the back of the sofa! How wide is Wales then? I need to be able to visualise this 300 to the power of whatever.
  • Comment on Space: Big stuff a long way away. by Sylva Starke
Amazing! Words fail me seeing this swirl of thousands of stars and the huge figures you present here. What a different perspective of life is gives. Is there any other out there, who knows. I love the picture in colour, well done for this and the course - of course :)

I'm with you on this Steve. What about a super-sized gold medallion - although a red bandanna sounds rather fetching.
